Did you know that Wild Apple Design also now do blogging!
Welcome to the thoughts and musings of an experienced team of book designers. We felt that we might have something to say about books, design, type, publishing and just general working life in a West Dorset design agency!
Shockingly we realised we have 100 years design experience combined and despite being long in the tooth we felt that we are in a good position to offer some insights.
So “Make book button”? Well, we wish we had one, much like a tea lady, but so far none exists. When you think about it a lot that goes into making an educational book - design, layout, typography, covers, art editing, photography asset management. On top of all this there is the organising so everything happens in a timely manner on schedule and on budget.
Over the course of the next few months we will be blogging about different aspects of the process offering industry insights, tips and pitfalls, along with our musings, thoughts and experiences.
Even though the technology and work-flow processes are quicker and more accessible to the everyday user, we have always believed that it is best to use a designer who has a sound knowledge of type, colour, trends, demographic and with an understanding of your requirement for the finished product. Experienced designers are more aware of the pitfalls of design and can pre-empt them, saving the client both money and time. Combined with good client relationship this is key to getting the most out of the design process.
Giving us designers as much information as possible, likes, dislikes, detailed product specifications will help ensure that you will get fullest potential and value for money from us.
That’s when you can trust an experienced crew like Wild Apple Design - who are more than able to enhance your project - from small book to a whole multiple component multi-level educational scheme.
In essence we are the make book button! Now where is that tea lady….?
